True Access Capital is looking for applications for its HER business plan competition


Does your business owned by women – or at least 51% women for businesses with multiple partners – need funding to grow? Genuine access to capital is seeking business plan submissions for its HER (Helping Entrepreneurship Rise) Business Plan Competetion.

True Access Capital is a community development financial institution, or CDFI, that provides entrepreneurs in Delaware and Southeastern Pennsylvania with technical expertise and access to capital. The organization aims to help women, minorities and those underserved by traditional lenders.

Through the contest, one winner will receive $ 10,000 and two will win $ 5,000 each, with the winners announced by True Access Capital’s annual meeting on October 28th.

The contest is open to women aged 18 and over who operate a licensed for-profit business in the State of Delaware that has been in business for at least one year. To apply, you will need to refine your eight-page business plan (including annual financial statements to date and one-year projected cash flow statement with assumptions) and submit with your online application by the 17th. September.

HER includes optional business plan consulting at True Access Capital Women’s business center.

True Access Capital grabbed the headlines recently when Delawarean, social rights activist and first daughter Ashely Biden Living Fund donated $ 26,500 to him to create a fund to help minority entrepreneurs start or grow small businesses in Wilmington.
