Minnow Tank Business Plan Competition to be held in Sidney in April


Great Northern Development Corporation, Small Business Development Center is running a business plan competition in conjunction with the MDT Small Business Enterprise program in a seven-county region of northeastern Montana including Valley, Garfield, McCone, Richland, Roosevelt, Sheridan and Daniels. The purpose of this event is to attract new entrepreneurs and support existing businesses in northeastern Montana by uniting communities for a common goal of economic development. GNDC and the MT SBE program will award two prizes of $ 5,000; one to a start-up and one to an existing business.

SBDC Director Shandy Moran will host business plan development courses in each of the seven participating counties in January. Entrepreneurs planning to participate in the Minnow Tank Business Plan competition are encouraged to attend a course. These course topics include the basics of business plan, marketing, and small business finance. Check the GNDC website or our monthly newsletter for the course schedule. Minnow Tank Business Plan submissions should be sent to GNDC by 5:00 p.m. on the 1st. March. The Minnow Tank Finals will take place at 5 p.m. on April 12, 2022, at the Sidney Event Center, where the finalists will present their business plan live to a panel of judges, one judge being the audience!
