KLAW Industries 2021 Binghamton Business Plan Competition Winners

The annual BLCD-EAP Business Plan Competition has announced the winner of this year’s award as KLAW Industries.

According to a press release, Binghamton Mayor Richard C. David, along with other officials from BLDC and SUNY Broome’s Entrepreneur Relief Program, announced this year’s winner at Koffman Southern Tier Incubator. .

The 2021 winner of the BLDC-EAP business plan competition is Binghamton-based KLAW Industries. For their process of extracting recycled glass from steam, which is then refined and marketed as an additive to the manufacture of concrete.

In the statement, Mayor David said “KLAW Industries exemplifies Binghamton’s heritage of innovation and entrepreneurship.”

The company (KLAW Industries) was started by three Chenango Forks high school graduates, Jack Lamuraglia, Tanner Wallis and Jacob Kumpon.

The three owners want to stay in the Binghamton area and continue to grow their business.

As this year’s award winners, KLAW Industries will receive a cash prize of $5,000, along with several other award services from other Binghamton businesses and organizations.

Jacob Kumpon thanked the awards committee and everyone who helped organize the contest.

KLAW Industries was chosen from among seven finalists, all six finalists will receive gift certificates from various local businesses.
