Kanara Entrepreneurs and CBCI collaborate to promote entrepreneurship and organize a business plan competition

Bangalore/Dubai, August 11: Kanara Entrepreneurs (KE), a not-for-profit non-profit organization with chapters in Bengaluru and Dubai, is organizing a nationwide business plan competition with the aim of encouraging young people in the community to try to companies and start-ups.

KE works with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) Youth Council to help young people in the community identify and pursue their passion in business.

“As parents and guardians, we all give our children a very good education, but when it comes to careers in entrepreneurship, we don’t support much,” says Pramod D’Souza, director of KE Bangalore. This competition is a small step towards a larger goal of job creation in this country, he adds.

Father Chetan Machado, Secretary – Youth Council, CBCI, believes that this is an opportunity for young people who are studying in college or have just graduated, to think of a startup idea, write it down in form business plan and participate in this competition.

Clarence Pereira, Chairman – KE Bangalore and Co-Founder of Deccan Group of Companies, hopes many young people will take advantage of this opportunity and submit innovative business ideas/plans. Ivan Fernandes, President – KE Global, a serial entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience building multiple start-ups, believes the start-up ecosystem is very conducive for young people to come up with new ideas and run.

How to participate ?

Entrants must complete a one-page business plan and submit it. The pre-selection committee would select the top 20 teams based on submitted business plans. These twenty teams will have the opportunity to present their business plan to the judges during a conference call. The final five teams will then have the opportunity to pitch their plan in front of a live audience at KE’s bi-monthly contractor meeting in December, where approximately 200 contractors are expected.

50K cash prize

The winners will walk away with a prize of Rs 50,000 while the finalist team will receive Rs 25,000. The other 3 finalist teams will receive Rs 10,000. In addition, all team members of these 5 teams will receive a one year at KE Network, worth Rs 10,620.

The business plan submission deadline is September 30, 2021.
