Business Blasters Investment Summit and Expo: Delhi Government School student to pitch business ideas at expo on March 5

NEW DELHI: The Business Blasters Investment Summit and Expo will be held on March 5 at Thyagraj Stadium by the Government of Delhi, where more than 100 business ideas selected by student entrepreneurs will be showcased.

The summit and the exhibition will allow investors to invest in the projects of their choice. According to Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, students who qualify for the final round will also be offered admission to Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) courses at state universities such as Technological University of Delhi (DTU), Indira Gandhi Technical University of Delhi for Women (IGDTUW), Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) and Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT).

Sisodia said the unemployment situation in the country is so bad that even highly educated people are applying for vacancies with the eligibility for class 8 pass. He added that among the current generation, the spirit of Business is not very important and so the Business Blasters program intends to instill it.

The Government of Delhi Business Blasters program is a start-up program with the participation of over 3 lakh students from public schools in Delhi who have been awarded a start-up capital of Rs 60 crore. During the first phase of Business Blasters, approximately 1,000 business ideas were selected at the school, zone and district levels. Following this, more than 100 business ideas were shortlisted for the Expo through a competition.

“Exhibition qualifiers and those with the highest investments will be admitted directly to top-tier state universities such as DTU, DSEU, IGDTUW, NSUT,” a Delhi government statement said.
