Advocacy Releases Top Ten Regs for Reform

The SBA Office of Advocacy was able to save small businesses about $2.5 billion in regulatory compliance costs during fiscal 2007, according to its annual report to Congress on enforcement of the Regulatory Flexibility Act. The report was released last week with a certain amount of hoopla, as this year it included its Top Ten list of rules for review, submitted by small business owners and advocates as a result of the first round of its new Regulatory Review and Reform (or r3) initiative. Overall, Advocacy’s report concludes that, while challenges still exist, they have had much success in connecting federal regulators with private sector small businesses in such a way that each of the parties understands the other.
